Biden administration won’t confirm if they will reach out to family of Maryland mom killed by illegal immigrant.

The Biden administration has remained silent on whether they plan to reach out to the family of Rachel Morin, a Maryland mother of five who was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant last year. No response has been provided by the White House or the Department of Homeland Security regarding Morin’s tragic death or any potential plans to offer support to her grieving family.

During a recent statement, a spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security stated, “The Department cannot make public comments on an ongoing criminal investigation. Nevertheless, individuals who commit heinous and senseless crimes, such as the one this individual is accused of, must face full prosecution under the law. Our deepest sympathies are with Rachel Morin’s family during this difficult time.”

Notably, former President Trump reached out to Patty Morin, Rachel’s mother, and engaged in a heartfelt conversation that lasted 20 minutes. Patty Morin expressed her gratitude, stating that President Trump’s compassion and genuine concern brought her comfort during the challenging period following her daughter’s untimely demise.

Rachel Morin, aged 37, was reported missing in August when her boyfriend revealed she hadn’t returned home after going for a run on the Ma & Pa Trail, a peaceful pedestrian trail in Bel Air, situated about 28 miles northeast of Baltimore. Tragically, her body was discovered the next day.

The suspect, Victor Martinez Hernandez, was taken into custody on June 14 following an extensive 10-month investigation into Morin’s murder. He faces charges of rape and first-degree murder. Hernandez, who allegedly arrived in the U.S. in February 2023, was apprehended while sitting at a bar in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Authorities disclosed that his DNA linked him to a March home invasion in Los Angeles, where a mother and her 9-year-old daughter were brutally assaulted.

Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler expressed his belief that Morin was not Hernandez’s first victim, stating, “It is my understanding that this suspect, this monster, fled to the United States illegally after committing the brutal murder of a young woman in El Salvador a month earlier in January of 2023.”

Updates from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Hernandez was expected to be extradited to Maryland to face the pending charges. His departure from Tulsa was scheduled on Thursday morning, with an estimated arrival at Martin State Airport between 12:30 and 1 p.m.

Following his return to Maryland, the 23-year-old suspect will be transferred to the Harford County Detention Center for further legal proceedings.
