As for the Supreme Court, Biden is advocating for an 18-year term limit for justices, which would in turn allow for a more frequent appointment process.

It remains uncertain if Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will support these reforms in the Senate. Biden, however, remains steadfast in his commitment to these changes, dismissing opposition as misguided.

This shift in Biden’s approach to the Supreme Court reflects a growing sense of urgency in the face of a conservative majority on the bench. While Biden has previously rejected ideas like court-packing, he now sees the need for more radical reforms to address what he perceives as a crisis of confidence in the judiciary.

Vice President Harris, who is also vying for the presidency, has thrown her support behind Biden’s initiatives, citing numerous ethics scandals and controversial decisions as the impetus for reform. Harris sees the current situation as untenable and in need of immediate intervention.
