Biden has COVID-19.

President Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 after attending his first event in Las Vegas and will now self-isolate in Delaware, as confirmed by the White House.

The White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, announced that Biden had tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. Despite being “vaccinated and boosted,” the president is experiencing mild symptoms.

“He will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” Jean-Pierre said. “The White House will provide regular updates on the President’s status as he continues to carry out the full duties of the office while in isolation.”

Biden was spotted without a mask at Harry Reid International Airport in Nevada shortly after the announcement of his diagnosis. As he made his way to Air Force One, reporters questioned him about his condition.

When asked about how he was feeling, President Biden simply replied, “I feel good.”

In a social media post, Biden acknowledged his COVID diagnosis and stated, “I will be isolating as I recover, and during this time I will continue to work to get the job done for the American people.”

According to his doctor, the president is experiencing upper respiratory symptoms, a runny nose, non-productive cough, and general malaise.

“He felt okay for his first event of the day, but given that he was not feeling better, point-of-care testing for COVID-19 was conducted, and the results were positive for the COVID-19 virus,” the physician’s statement shared by the White House explained. “Given this, the President will be self-isolating in accordance with CDC guidance for symptomatic individuals.”

Despite having a normal temperature of 97.8 degrees, Biden has received his first dose of Paxlovid and will be self-isolating at his home in Rehoboth.

President Biden was scheduled to speak at the UnidosUS Annual Conference in Las Vegas, an event that attracts thousands of Latino advocates to Nevada, a crucial swing-state.

Unfortunately, UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía informed attendees that Biden was unable to join them due to his recent COVID diagnosis, expressing the president’s deep disappointment.

As Biden battles through his illness, he is also facing escalating pressure from within the Democratic Party and donors to reconsider his stance in the upcoming presidential race, with concerns raised about his physical and mental well-being.
