Biden supporters donate $10 million to create popular videos to compete with Trump campaign

President Biden’s allies are stepping up their game by donating at least $10 million to combat the Trump campaign’s strong presence on social media, a recent report reveals. The team at Biden’s top re-election super PAC, Future Forward USA Action, is concerned that the current president is lagging behind Trump in the viral video war, where Trump and his Republican allies have inundated social media platforms with videos portraying Biden as old and out of touch.

Notable supporters of the Democratic super PAC include Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and LinkedIn founder Reed Hoffman. The initiative aims to assist Biden’s campaign in grasping how social media algorithms function, while also collaborating with pro-Biden influencers to boost his online presence.

“Future Forward is here to address challenges, and TikTok is one of them. The group is working diligently to solve this issue,” a Democrat source disclosed to Reuters.

Since joining the TikTok platform in February, the Biden campaign has shared over 200 posts and amassed just over 380,000 followers. Contrastingly, Trump only recently joined TikTok and has already accumulated a staggering 6.4 million followers, underlining the urgency for the Biden team to enhance their social media strategy.

On the flip side, the Republican National Committee has been capitalizing on Biden’s age-related concerns by circulating videos of him appearing confused or freezing up at public events. Despite the White House dismissing these clips as “cheap fakes,” there is scant evidence to support any deceptive alterations.

The term “cheap fakes” has become the go-to defense for the White House amidst the circulation of embarrassing Biden videos. However, not everyone is convinced by this explanation. According to Heritage Foundation tech researcher Jake Denton, this narrative is part of the political vocabulary employed during elections to manipulate public perception.

“This sort of strategy involves alleging that something is a ‘cheap fake’ or maliciously disseminated misinformation related to an election. This sets the stage for demanding social media platforms to take down such content under the premise of election misinformation. It appears to be a calculated move,” explained Denton.
