Border Patrol catches several illegal immigrants who are also sex offenders in one weekend.

Border Patrol agents made a significant announcement revealing that they had intercepted multiple sex offenders in a single weekend trying to sneak into the United States, adding to the ongoing concerns about criminals entering the country.

Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens disclosed that his agents had apprehended seven sex offenders with prior convictions at the border. These individuals had committed offenses like rape, aggravated sexual abuse, assault, and criminal contact with a minor.

Expressing his concern, Owens emphasized, “These are the individuals who are attempting to evade capture.”

In a separate incident, agents in the Tucson Sector of Arizona revealed the arrest of two more felons over the weekend. These two Mexican nationals had convictions for aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated abuse of a minor.

The continuous border crisis raises alarms about the influx of criminals managing to enter the U.S. Some get caught and released by Border Patrol, while others slip past capture and become what is known as “gotaways.”

News of the latest illegal immigrant criminals follows the disturbing case of two Venezuelan nationals who were charged with the tragic death of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston, Texas. Authorities reported that the suspects lured the young girl under a bridge, where she was bound and brutally killed.

Similarly, an Ecuadorian national, residing illegally in the U.S., was arrested for a heinous daytime sexual assault. Police reported that a man armed with a machete raped a 13-year-old girl in a park.

Another heartbreaking incident involved the arrest of an illegal migrant from El Salvador for the murder of Rachel Morin, a mother of five in Maryland. These shocking crimes are part of a disturbing trend of offenses committed across the country by individuals living in the U.S. unlawfully.

Border Patrol agents have been relentless in their efforts, making over 13,000 arrests of individuals with criminal records so far this fiscal year. This number is closing in on the total of 15,267 arrests made in FY 2023, already surpassing the figures from FY 2022 (12,028) and FY 2021 (10,763).

May witnessed a total of 170,723 encounters at the southern border, marking the lowest month this fiscal year and the lowest May since President Biden assumed office. However, the ongoing crisis is slated to be a pivotal issue in the upcoming CNN presidential debate, scheduled for Thursday, underscoring its significance as a major political concern in the United States.
