Bragg says DA office did their job in Trump case, jury has spoken
Former President Trump was found guilty on 34 counts after a lengthy trial in Manhattan. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg celebrated the verdict, proclaiming that his office had done its job in following the facts and the law.
Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney, proudly announced the victory after the jury unanimously found Trump guilty on all counts, including falsifying business records in the first degree. Trump had pleaded not guilty to the charges, but the jury’s decision was clear.
During a press conference, Bragg emphasized the importance of the jury’s role in deliberating based on the evidence and the law alone. He stated that the jurors, through their careful consideration, had concluded that Trump had falsified business records to corrupt the 2016 election. White-collar crimes like these are fundamental to the work of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Bragg added.
Despite Trump’s strong denials and accusations of a biased trial, the jury’s decision stood. Trump declared the trial a rigged and disgraceful event, vowing to continue his fight for the Constitution and the nation in the upcoming 2024 election.
The trial, which spanned six weeks in Manhattan court, kept Trump away from the campaign trail. With sentencing scheduled for July 11, just before the Republican National Convention, Trump’s legal battles are far from over.
