Conservative group attacks Democratic Senators in ad about important election issue
In a bold new move by a conservative activist group, a compelling ad has been released urging Senate Democrats, especially those in red states facing tough reelection battles, to support a critical House bill designed to prevent noncitizens from participating in U.S. elections. This powerful message comes from Building America’s Future, as they call on Americans to demand Senate Democrats to pass HR 192 and put an end to the troubling trend of illegal immigrants influencing our electoral process.
The House bill in question, HR 192, gained traction in May following its endorsement by the House. This bill aims to counteract a Washington, DC law that permits noncitizens to cast votes in elections, a controversial practice that raises serious concerns about the integrity of our democratic system.
Notably, the ad specifically targets vulnerable Senate Democrats Sherrod Brown and Jon Tester, utilizing digital platforms to amplify its message as part of the ongoing ‘Chaos at the Border’ campaign spearheaded by Building America’s Future.
The ad pulls no punches, drawing attention to alarming incidents involving illegal immigrants that have rocked the nation. It references the tragic case of Jose Ibarra, an undocumented immigrant accused of the heinous murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. Additionally, the ad highlights a recent headline-grabbing incident where two foreign nationals were apprehended while attempting to breach a Marine Corps base in Virginia, underscoring the potential security risks associated with illegal immigration.
With a sense of urgency, the ad portrays Democrats as proponents of granting illegal immigrants the right to vote, a move that is staunchly opposed by Speaker Johnson and House Republicans, who are depicted as defenders of democracy. The ad emphasizes the importance of enacting sensible legislation like HR 192 to safeguard our electoral process and prevent unauthorized individuals from exerting influence through illicit voting practices.
At its core, the ad champions the fundamental right of voting as a cornerstone of American democracy, calling on Senate Democrats to prioritize the passage of HR 192 and uphold the sanctity of elections by keeping illegal immigrants out of the voting booth.
As the ad draws to a close, it features images of Democratic Senators Jon Tester and Sherrod Brown, both of whom are embroiled in challenging reelection campaigns where Republicans are seeking to gain control of the Senate by flipping key states.
This latest initiative by Building America’s Future adds to a series of ads that have focused on immigration-related issues, including a previous ad that criticized President Biden in the aftermath of Riley’s tragic murder, strategically timed around the president’s State of the Union address earlier this year.
