Cruz wants migrants who kill Houston girl to get death penalty

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is calling for justice after the tragic killing of a 12-year-old Houston girl. Cruz is pushing for two illegal immigrants, Johan Jose Martinez Rangel, 22, and Franklin Pena, 26, both from Venezuela, who have been charged with capital murder in connection to the death of Jocelyn Nungaray, to be sentenced to death if convicted.

The heartbreaking incident, where Nungaray was found strangled to death in a creek, has sparked outrage and controversy surrounding the impact of President Biden’s border policies. Cruz has pointed fingers at Biden’s administration, blaming their open border policies for the tragedy that ensued, stating that Nungaray would still be alive with her family if not for these policies.

The details of the crime are chilling. It is reported that the two suspects were seen with Nungaray on the night she was killed near a bridge. Investigators revealed that the defendants lured the young girl under a bridge, where they spent over two hours with her, before tying her up, killing her, and throwing her body into the bayou.

Both Martinez and Pena entered the United States illegally through Texas, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Martinez was apprehended near El Paso on March 14, while Pena was caught on May 28. Shockingly, they were both released on orders of recognizance with a notice to appear on the same day they were apprehended.

In response to this tragic incident, Cruz is urging President Biden to reinstate the Remain in Mexico policy, a directive from the Trump era that required migrants seeking asylum to stay in Mexico while their cases were processed in U.S. courts. Cruz believes that immediate action is needed to prevent further loss of innocent lives, calling for an end to catch-and-release policies and the implementation of effective measures.

This case is part of a string of heinous crimes committed by illegal immigrants across the country, including kidnappings, murders, and rapes. The devastating impact of these crimes has raised concerns and renewed calls for stricter border control measures to ensure the safety of citizens.

As the nation grapples with the aftermath of this senseless tragedy, the demand for justice and accountability remains high. The call for harsh penalties for those responsible for such heinous acts echoes the sentiments of a community mourning the loss of a young life. The need for stronger border security measures to prevent such incidents in the future underscores the urgency of addressing immigration policies effectively.
