Donald Trump talks about how healthy he is.

Former President Donald Trump didn’t shy away from boasting about his cognitive and physical health during the recent presidential debate, where age-related concerns were brought up. Trump confidently claimed, “I think I’m in very good shape. I feel that I’m in as good a shape as I was 25-30 years ago. Actually, I’m probably a little bit lighter.”

Furthermore, Trump took the opportunity to emphasize his cognitive health, an area that he has been particularly fixated on. In contrast, he criticized President Joe Biden’s performance at the debate as weak and unfocused. Trump proudly declared, “I took two cognitive tests. I aced them, both of them, as you know. We made it public. [Biden] took none. I’d like to see him just take one, a real easy one. Go through the first five questions, he couldn’t do it.”

Despite Trump’s efforts to undermine Biden’s capabilities, earlier this year, Biden’s physician affirmed that he is “fit for duty” and did not find it necessary to administer a cognitive test to him.

It is worth noting that Biden’s age and health have become key targets for attacks by Trump, with both men being only a few years apart in age. Biden, at 81 years old, holds the title of the oldest sitting president, while Trump just celebrated his 78th birthday. Recent polls indicate that voters share concerns about the ages of both Trump and Biden, though the worries seem to be more prominent regarding Biden.
