Ex-Trump White House staff support John Kelly’s warning about Trump.

Former White House chief of staff John Kelly recently made headlines when he described former President Donald Trump as fitting the definition of a fascist and even suggested that Adolf Hitler “did some good things.” In response, 13 other members of the Trump administration came forward with an open letter supporting Kelly’s assertions.

The group, which includes former national security, communications, and other White House staff, expressed concerns about Trump’s disdain for the American military and his admiration for dictators like Hitler. They highlighted Trump’s desire for unchecked power and pointed out his actions, such as throwing Vice President Mike Pence into a violent mob in an attempt to hold on to power.

In interviews with The New York Times and the Atlantic, Kelly, a retired U.S. Marine Corps general, further elaborated on Trump’s attitude towards the military and dictators. The former Trump staffers who signed the open letter described themselves as “lifelong Republicans who served our country” and urged others to heed Kelly’s warning.

Unsurprisingly, Trump and his campaign vehemently refuted Kelly’s claims. A Trump campaign spokesperson accused Kelly of fabricating stories and suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The spokesperson emphasized Trump’s supposed respect for the military and criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for allegedly disrespecting military families.

With the presidential election just around the corner, the rivalry between Trump and Harris has intensified. Harris has been focusing on highlighting the potential threat to democracy posed by a Trump presidency. Recent polling conducted by the Harris campaign has shown that persuadable voters are concerned about Trump’s pursuit of unchecked power and the risks he poses to national security.

Kelly’s comments about Trump being fascist-like have resonated with undecided voters, causing some to reconsider their support for the former president. Harris seized on this sentiment during a recent appearance on CNN, questioning why Kelly is speaking out now and urging the public to take seriously the warnings of those who worked closely with Trump.

As the election approaches, the rhetoric between the Trump and Harris camps is expected to escalate. With both sides vying for support and leveraging endorsements from former administration officials, the race for the presidency is becoming increasingly intense.
