Fans of Taylor Swift raise $144,000 for Harris-Walz Campaign.

The Swifties for Kamala movement is gaining momentum and making waves in the fundraising world for the Harris-Walz campaign. With a total of $144,000 raised so far, this Taylor Swift fan-led organization is showing just how impactful a dedicated fandom can be.

Just recently, the group hosted a Zoom event that drew in 34,000 participants, including notable figures like Carole King and Sen. Elizabeth Warren. The result? 41,000 voters checked their registration, a clear indication of the group’s influential efforts.

Irene Kim, cofounder, and executive director of Swifties for Kamala, emphasized the power of community mobilization. She highlighted the importance of aligning the group’s values with Taylor Swift’s, noting the clarity with which the Grammy winner expresses her beliefs.

The majority of the funds raised, a substantial $122,000, came from the successful Zoom event. While Taylor Swift has not officially endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the movement’s leaders stress that their goal is not to speak for Swift but to harness the strength of their community.

Despite Taylor Swift’s absence from the movement, other musicians have rallied behind Harris since Biden’s endorsement. Carole King, in particular, has been a vocal supporter of the VP and even serenaded attendees of the Swifties for Kamala call with a rendition of “Shake It Off.”

During the event, Elizabeth Warren shared her admiration for Swifties, praising their resilience and ability to combat adversity. She commended their unity in the face of challenges, drawing parallels between their strength and the values upheld by the Kamala Harris campaign.

With the Harris-Walz campaign gaining support and visibility, Swifties for Kamala continues to pave the way for passionate fandom engagement in political advocacy. The impact of this movement serves as a testament to the influence of dedicated communities coming together for a common cause.
