Harris’ top 3 VP picks change weekend plans before announcement.

Vice President Kamala Harris is gearing up to announce her running mate, and several top candidates have made last-minute changes to their schedules in anticipation of this highly anticipated event.

Among those on Harris’ shortlist for vice president are Govs. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Andy Beshear of Kentucky, as well as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. All three candidates have cleared their calendars ahead of the weekend, fueling speculation about who will ultimately be chosen as Harris’ running mate.

Shapiro, originally slated to attend three fundraising events in the Hamptons in New York, has altered his plans. According to his spokesperson, Manuel Bonder, Shapiro’s trip, which was organized weeks ago and included fundraisers for his own campaign committee, has been rescheduled. He will no longer be traveling to the Hamptons this weekend.

Beshear, too, will be absent from two events over the weekend: a visit to the Jackson Purchase Distillery on Friday and the annual Fancy Farm Picnic in the state of Kentucky on Saturday. The changes in their schedules have only added to the intrigue surrounding Harris’ imminent announcement.

As for Buttigieg, he has reportedly trimmed an event at Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo on Friday, as per Politico. The last-minute adjustments made by these prominent figures reflect the anticipation surrounding Harris’ selection of her running mate.

The public can expect Harris to make her first joint appearance with her chosen running mate on Tuesday in Philadelphia, marking the beginning of a four-day tour of key battleground states. The excitement is palpable as Harris gears up to unveil her vice presidential pick.
