Hunter Biden’s lawyers are asking who filled out important gun form

Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden’s defense attorney, appears to have hinted at a crucial aspect of his defense strategy in a Delaware federal court hearing. The focus of the case revolves around a particular government form – Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) form 4473, where Hunter Biden checked a box stating he was not using or addicted to drugs when purchasing a gun.

There are two versions of the form in question. The first was submitted via email on October 26, 2018, and has been accepted as evidence by U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika. However, there is also a physical version of the form that was filled out at a gun store, with assistance from an employee named Gordon Cleveland.

Cleveland’s testimony is expected to play a significant role in the trial, as he is likely to affirm that Biden personally filled out and signed the physical form. Abbe Lowell emphasized the importance of determining the accuracy of the form’s contents during the court proceedings.

During the hearing, it was revealed that there may have been tampering with the form, with allegations that Cleveland accepted an unauthorized ID and the gun store owner, Ron Palmieri, made alterations to the form. However, Judge Noreika stressed that the crucial factor is the information provided by Hunter Biden himself on the form.

The decision regarding the admissibility of the physical form into evidence will be made at a later date, but it appears that the gun store employees, including Gordon Cleveland, may be subject to questioning regarding their testimony credibility.

The trial is scheduled to commence with jury selection on June 3, with both parties anticipating the proceedings to extend until around June 14, or potentially into the following week. As Hunter Biden left the courtroom, he engaged with sketch artist Bill Hennessy, displaying a casual demeanor amidst the ongoing legal proceedings.
