Hunter Biden’s request to dismiss gun charges denied by court.

Hunter Biden’s legal troubles continue as the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has refused to dismiss his federal gun charges indictment. The president’s son is gearing up to face trial next month in Delaware.

In a recent court document released on Thursday, it was stated, “The defendant in this criminal case appealed three pretrial orders entered on April 12, 2024, denying his motions to dismiss the indictment. This appeal is DISMISSED because the defendant has not shown the District Court’s orders are appealable before final judgment.”

Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, has been at the center of controversy after being indicted last year for purchasing a revolver in 2018 while actively using narcotics. This has resulted in him facing three felony charges related to the incident. Despite the allegations, Biden has maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Biden’s legal team filed a motion earlier this year in federal court, arguing that a diversion agreement previously agreed upon with the Department of Justice should still be valid. The agreement was supposed to resolve the case without the need for a trial, but it fell through in July 2023, leading to the current legal battle.

While Biden has acknowledged his struggles with substance abuse, including crack cocaine, during the period in question, his lawyers have adamantly stated that he did not break any laws. They have also highlighted that another nonviolent, first-time offender would not have been charged in a similar situation.

Despite their efforts to have the case dismissed, Biden’s attorneys have faced challenges as they argued that political pressure influenced prosecutors to pursue the case after the initial agreement was criticized by Republicans, notably former President Donald Trump, as a “sweetheart deal.”

Attorney Abbe Lowell, representing Biden, has pushed for a final ruling on the matter, citing immunity provisions from the original deal that he believes are still applicable. The legal team is preparing for a significant legal battle ahead as a three- to six-day jury trial is scheduled to commence on June 3, presided over by Judge Maryellen Noreika. Additionally, a pre-trial conference is set for May 24, leading up to the trial date.

Aside from the gun charges trial in Delaware, Hunter Biden is also facing federal tax charges in Los Angeles as part of the same investigation led by Special Counsel David Weiss. The trial for the tax charges is slated to begin on June 20, further complicating Biden’s legal situation and adding to the pressure he is currently under.

As the legal battles intensify and the trials draw closer, all eyes will be on Hunter Biden and the outcome of these significant court proceedings that could have serious implications for his future.
