James Carville says if Trump wins, the Constitution will be in danger.

Longtime Democratic strategist, James Carville, made a bold prediction this week regarding the future of the United States under a second term of President Donald Trump. Carville, who previously suggested that President Joe Biden might exit the race following a disastrous debate against Trump, now warns of dire consequences if Trump were to be re-elected.

Speaking on Mediaite’s “Press Club” podcast, Carville expressed grave concerns about what he believes would happen under a second Trump administration. He stated, “I think that you are going to see a destroyed NATO. We’re going to be expressing the values of authoritarianism and totalitarianism… They’re already telling it, this whole thing about Project 2025, it’s almost predictable.”

Carville was referring to Project 2025, a right-wing policy manifesto that includes plans to replace federal experts with Trump loyalists in key positions within crucial agencies. Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former White House communications director under Trump, has warned that this could have serious implications for the functioning of the government.

According to Carville, a second Trump term would lead to “lawlessness on a scale that we can’t comprehend.” He expressed concerns about Christian nationalism taking hold in the courts and the erosion of constitutional norms. Carville believes that under Trump, certain individuals are already being placed above the law.

One particular issue that Carville highlighted is the potential use of the Comstock Act, an anti-obscenity law dating back to 1873, to restrict abortion at the federal level. He criticized Republican lawmakers like House Speaker Mike Johnson and Sen. Josh Hawley for justifying invasive policies under the guise of religion.

Despite his reservations about Biden as the Democratic nominee, Carville emphasized the importance of voting for the Democratic candidate in order to protect American values and institutions. He urged listeners to “vote blue no matter who” in order to safeguard democracy and the rule of law.

Carville’s stark warning about the consequences of a second Trump term serves as a call to action for Americans to consider the future of their country carefully. As the election approaches, the choice between the two candidates has never been more critical.
