Jasmine Crockett addresses Joe Manchin’s concerns about Kamala Harris

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) has made it abundantly clear that she is firmly in Vice President Kamala Harris’s corner for the upcoming November election. Despite any potential challenges from other lawmakers, Crockett is unwavering in her support for Harris.

During an appearance on MSNBC’s Joy Reid show, Crockett dismissed the idea of abandoning Harris in favor of other candidates, stating, “The only person that I will get out there and break my back for and campaign for and believe in who is capable and qualified is Vice President Kamala Harris.”

Crockett’s statements came in response to reports that Senator Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.), who recently left the Democratic party to become an independent, is contemplating re-registering as a Democrat and vying for the nomination against Harris.

Although Manchin, who is not seeking re-election and is poised to retire from the Senate, has suggested the idea of an “open primary” to select Biden’s replacement, Crockett remains steadfast in her support of Harris.

On a recent appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Manchin highlighted other potential candidates for the Democratic nomination, including Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. He praised their ability to bring people together despite facing opposition from their state legislatures.

While Shapiro has endorsed Harris following Biden’s announcement, Beshear has yet to fully throw his support behind the vice president. However, his upcoming appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” suggests that his stance may soon become clearer.

Despite the speculation and potential challengers, Crockett reiterated her unwavering loyalty to Harris. In a recent social media post, she emphasized the importance of Harris’s position as Vice President and her ability to lead effectively.

“We have to do the work! I don’t want another few weeks of not getting to the job of BEATING MAGA & Project 2025!” Crockett exclaimed, signaling her determination to support Harris in the upcoming election.
