JD Vance gets attention for comments on East Palestine train derailment
On the evening of Feb. 3, 2023, a freight train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in East Palestine, Ohio, causing a large black plume to linger over the area for weeks. Residents living nearby were understandably concerned about potential long-term health consequences resulting from the accident.
