Joe Buck doesn’t allow Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce jokes in his house.

Since Taylor Swift became a major presence at Kansas City Chiefs games, a few announcers have made some humorous slip-ups when referring to her during game day broadcasts. However, Joe Buck wants to make it clear that he won’t be falling into that trap.

During the recent Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints match, co-announcer Troy Aikman mistakenly referred to the pop star as Travis Kelce’s “Mrs.” This led to a funny exchange on air, where Buck revealed that his daughters had warned him not to make any jokes about Taylor Swift. It seems like even the seasoned announcers have to watch their steps around the singer!

On camera, there was a moment where Swift was captured reacting to one of Kelce’s plays in the second quarter. As she cheered and applauded her boyfriend, Aikman commented, “The Mrs. likes it,” leading Buck to correct him by pointing out that they are not actually married. Aikman jokingly acknowledged that he might be in trouble for his slip-up, showcasing a light-hearted moment during the broadcast.

These slip-ups are not uncommon, with Tony Romo making a similar mistake during a Chiefs game in the previous season, where he mistakenly referred to Taylor Swift as Kelce’s wife before correcting himself to say girlfriend. It seems like the connection between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has led to some confusion in the announcer booth!

Taking a break from her global Eras Tour, Swift has been a regular attendee at Chiefs games this season to support Kelce. At a recent game at Arrowhead Stadium, the 14-time Grammy winner made a stylish appearance in a plaid dress, platform boots, and eye-catching glitter freckles on her cheeks. She definitely knows how to make a statement both on and off the stage!

Following a Chiefs victory of 26-13, Kelce joined Swift in her box suite for a sweet moment captured by a fan camera. With a flawless record of 5-0, the team is on a winning streak and will soon face off against their 2024 Super Bowl opponents, the San Francisco 49ers, on Oct. 20. The excitement on and off the field continues to grow, making each game day a thrilling experience for players and fans alike!
