John Rich is excited for Taylor Swift to influence voting.

John Rich, the Big & Rich musician, recently shared his thoughts about a potential endorsement from Taylor Swift for Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Taking to Twitter on Friday, August 22, Rich sarcastically said, “I can’t wait for Taylor Swift to tell me how to vote.”

It’s worth noting that Taylor Swift has not endorsed any candidate in the 2024 presidential race, which is primarily between Trump and Harris. However, in 2020, Swift endorsed Biden and was vocal about her views on Trump during the George Floyd protests. She criticized Trump’s response to the unrest, accusing him of stoking white supremacy and racism throughout his presidency. In a tweet directed at Trump, Swift wrote, “After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?”

The tweet was in response to Trump’s controversial comment, “When the looting starts the shooting starts”, which many perceived as a veiled threat to protesters following George Floyd’s killing by a Minneapolis police officer. Swift concluded her tweet by stating, “We will vote you out in November”.

In a separate incident, the former president reposted images of fans wearing “Swifties for Trump” T-shirts. One image featured Swift in a patriotic outfit, reminiscent of the “I Want You For U.S. Army” recruiting poster. The caption read, “Taylor Wants You to Vote For Donald Trump.” Trump humorously accepted the message but later clarified that the images were created by AI and not endorsed by Swift herself.
