Kings of Leon’s new song is called ‘Can We Please Have Fun’
Kings of Leon, the renowned U.S. rock band, is poised to dominate the U.K. chart with their ninth studio album, “Can We Please Have Fun.” According to midweek sales and streaming data from the Official Charts Company, the album is leading the race for the top spot. If it secures the Official U.K. Chart throne, it will mark the seventh No. 1 album for Kings of Leon, which includes brothers Caleb, Nathan, and Jared Followill, along with cousin Matthew Followill.
The current runner-up on the Official Chart Update is Taylor Swift’s former chart-topper, “The Tortured Poets Department.” Meanwhile, British pop-rock band Keane is making a strong comeback with their debut album, “Hopes and Fears,” following a 20th-anniversary deluxe reissue. The album, which originally spent five weeks at No. 1 back in 2004, is predicted to re-enter the national chart at No. 3.
U.S. rapper Gunna is making waves with his fourth U.K. top 10 album, “One Of Wun.” It debuts at No. 5 on the chart, showcasing his continued success in the music industry. Legendary British pop-rock act Queen is also making a splash with their 2007 live album, “Rock Montreal,” which could enter the top 10 for the first time following the release of the accompanying concert film on Disney+.
Other notable releases that are aiming for top 40 positions on the Official U.K. Albums Chart include Gabrielle’s “A Place In Your Heart,” Arab Strap’s “I’m Totally Fine With It Don’t Give A F*ck Anymore,” Big Special’s “Postindustrial Hometown Blues,” Bugzy Malone’s “The Great British Dream,” Knocked Loose’s “You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To,” Jordan Rakei’s “The Loop,” and Villagers’ “That Golden Time.”
All the excitement and anticipation will culminate when the Official U.K. Albums Chart is unveiled later this Friday, on May 17th. Stay tuned to see which artists and albums will reign supreme on the charts!
