James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, took swift action by extending an invitation to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to testify at a forthcoming committee hearing scheduled for Monday, July 22. “The assertion that a member of the former President’s security team requested additional security resources that the U.S. Secret Service or the Department of Homeland Security rebuffed is absolutely false,” stated Guglielmi. “In fact, recently the U.S. Secret Service added protective resources and capabilities to the former President’s security detail, reaffirming our commitment to ensuring the safety of all individuals under our protection.”
