Members of bipartisan group identified in investigation of attempted assassination of Trump

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., made an important announcement on Monday regarding the formation of a bipartisan panel tasked with investigating the recent assassination attempt against former President Trump. This panel consists of a group of dedicated and highly qualified Members of Congress who will be focused on uncovering the truth, ensuring accountability, and preventing similar incidents from occurring in the future.

The appointed chairman of the task force is Republican Rep. Mike Kelly from Pennsylvania, the state where the assassination attempt took place. Rep. Jason Crow, a Democrat from Colorado, will serve as the ranking member of the panel.

Joining them are other members including Reps. Mark Green of Tennessee, David Joyce of Ohio, Laurel Lee of Florida, Michael Waltz of Florida, Clay Higgins of Louisiana, Pat Fallon of Texas, Lou Correa of California, Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Glenn Ivey of Maryland, and Jared Moskowitz of Florida.

Jared Moskowitz, a former Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management who was involved in investigating the failures of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, expressed his gratitude for being part of the task force. He emphasized the importance of working together in a bipartisan manner to find answers and solutions following such a tragic event.

Chrissy Houlahan also shared her thoughts on being selected for the bipartisan task force, highlighting the responsibility she feels in investigating the attempted assassination of the former President with integrity, free from political influences.

Unfortunately, Rep. Dan Goldman from New York was not included in the list of task force members due to concerns raised by Republicans regarding his past remarks about the former President.

The establishment of this bipartisan panel marks a significant step towards understanding the events surrounding the recent assassination attempt and ensuring that necessary measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. Through their diligent work, these Members of Congress aim to uphold the values of truth, civility, decency, and patriotism as they carry out their investigative duties.
