Mike Pence says Biden is being hypocritical about impeachment while facing arms deal with Israel.

Former Vice President Mike Pence criticized President Biden’s announcement regarding withholding weapons from Israel if it entered the southern Gaza city of Rafah. Pence accused Biden of hypocrisy, pointing out how his former boss, President Trump, was impeached on similar grounds. Biden expressed concern over civilian casualties in Gaza and stated that he would not supply weapons for Rafah.

In response to Biden’s statements, Pence called them “totally unacceptable” and urged him to stop the threats against Israel. Pence emphasized the importance of standing by Israel until they eradicate Hamas. He criticized Biden for withholding aid approved by Congress for political convenience, drawing parallels to Trump’s impeachment over a phone call with the Ukrainian president.

Senator Tom Cotton went further by suggesting that the House should consider impeachment proceedings against Biden based on the precedent set with Trump’s impeachment. Democrats accused Trump of soliciting foreign election interference in exchange for security assistance from Ukraine. In contrast, Pence argued that Israel deserves American support to defeat Hamas and should not be used as a political pawn.

Rep. Beth Van Duyne introduced the Immediate Support for Israel Act to ensure aid and support approved by Congress are delivered to Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is prepared to stand alone if necessary. Hedge fund manager Bill Ackman criticized Biden’s actions as one of the worst against an ally of a sitting president, expressing hope that Biden’s term may not last much longer.

The White House did not provide an immediate response to Pence’s comments. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop and whether Congress will take further action regarding aid to Israel.
