Noem talks about feeling threatened by Nikki Haley and other controversial topics in new book.

Gov. Kristi Noem’s much-anticipated book, “No Going Back,” delves into her leadership role and experiences in Washington, D.C., providing readers with insight into her journey from family farming to congressional service and her current position as Governor.

The conservative politician’s book has already caused quite a stir, even before its official release. Former President Trump confirmed that Gov. Noem was on his shortlist for vice president, to which she responded by expressing her desire for him to choose the most effective candidate to secure victory.

However, controversy surrounded one particular excerpt from the book that sparked heated discussions. The story recounted the difficult decision Gov. Noem made to euthanize her hunting dog, Cricket, who exhibited uncontrollable behavior by killing neighbors’ chickens and nearly attacking the governor herself. Critics from both political parties took to social media to express their disapproval, prompting the formation of a Congressional Dog Lovers Caucus.

Amidst the backlash, Gov. Noem defended her decision to include the story, emphasizing the weight of the choice and the vulnerable nature of sharing such a personal experience. She explained that prioritizing human safety over an aggressive animal was a tough but necessary decision.

In addition to the dog controversy, Gov. Noem revealed details about a conversation with former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, where she described feeling “threatened” by Haley’s unpredictable nature influenced by polls and donor opinions. Noem expressed concerns about Haley’s political motivations and highlighted the importance of consistent and principled leadership in steering the country forward.

Reflecting on the GOP’s setbacks in the 2022 midterms, Gov. Noem attributed the lack of a Senate majority to failures within the Republican National Committee. She acknowledged the disruptive impact of Donald Trump on conventional politics and emphasized the need for innovation and progress rather than reverting to outdated norms.

With the official launch of her book scheduled for May 7th, Gov. Noem shared that “No Going Back” aims to address the shortcomings of current politics and provide a roadmap for Americans to contribute to advancing the nation. She highlighted Trump’s role in reshaping political dynamics and called for embracing change and moving towards a brighter future.
