Report: Harris rejects Democrat willing to be her Vice President

Vice President Kamala Harris is making strategic moves to solidify her ticket for the upcoming election, by vetting potential running mates to join her campaign. The Harris team has reached out to several prominent figures, including North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and Sen. Mark Kelly from Arizona.

One notable absence from the list of candidates being vetted is Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, who has been speculated to be a strong contender for the position. Despite expressing interest in the role and mentioning his willingness to support the people of Kentucky in any capacity, Beshear has not received any vetting materials from the Harris campaign.

While some potential candidates have refrained from openly discussing their interest in becoming the next vice president, others have offered their endorsement of Harris without committing to joining the ticket. Gov. Cooper, Shapiro, Pritzker, and Sen. Kelly have thrown their support behind Harris but have not explicitly expressed desire for the vice presidency.

Conversely, Gov. Whitmer has taken to social media to dispel any rumors of her potential departure from Michigan, asserting her commitment to serving as the governor of the state. On the other hand, Gov. Walz has shown a more receptive attitude towards joining Harris on the ticket, stating his readiness to assist in any capacity deemed necessary.

As the race for the vice presidency heats up, it remains to be seen who will ultimately join forces with Vice President Kamala Harris to challenge the incumbent Republican administration. The coming days will surely bring more twists and turns as the Democratic ticket takes shape for the upcoming election.
