Republicans finish investigating Joe Biden in impeachment inquiry.

Welcome to Boston Post News, where we bring you the latest updates on the political landscape. Today, we delve into the House Republicans’ final report on their investigation into President Joe Biden, where they claim to have found evidence of “impeachable conduct.”

After a thorough examination that spanned over a year and a half, House Republicans couldn’t establish clear proof of official wrongdoing by President Biden. However, they criticized him for his repeated interactions with his son Hunter’s business partners, suggesting that payments to Hunter could lead to influence over Joe Biden.

The report alleges that President Biden was aware of enriching his family by misusing his public office, stating, “it is inconceivable that President Biden did not understand that he was taking part in an effort to enrich his family by abusing his office of public trust.”

Most of the conduct mentioned in the report occurred before Biden assumed office in 2021, with the majority taking place after he left the vice presidency in 2017. Republicans also voiced concerns about the Biden administration impeding their investigation and stifling a criminal inquiry into Hunter Biden, despite the Justice Department pursuing gun and tax charges against him.

Witnesses testified that Hunter Biden frequently communicated with his father and even had him on speakerphone during interactions with clients. Although there were in-person encounters between President Biden and his son’s business partners, no witness attested to discussions about business matters with the elder Biden.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer labeled the Biden family’s influence-peddling model as centered around Joe Biden’s presence, emphasizing his role in showcasing his family’s influence over him. On the contrary, Rep. Jamie Raskin noted that Republicans failed to prove any substantial wrongdoing by President Biden.

For the past year, House Republicans aimed to substantiate claims of Joe Biden receiving bribes from the founder of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company where Hunter Biden served as a board member. Allegations suggested that as vice president, Biden orchestrated the removal of a Ukrainian prosecutor in 2015 to benefit his son, but the FBI debunked these claims.

Though the report disregards the bribery allegations, it points towards suspicious payments from James Biden to Joe Biden. While James Biden asserted that these were loan repayments, the report questions the lack of evidence to support this assertion.

Despite these findings, the report omits any articles of impeachment against President Biden, leaving the decision on further steps to the full House. The investigation has been a focal point of discussion, igniting debates over the extent of Biden’s involvement with his son’s business dealings and potential conflicts of interest.
