Rob Reiner tells Joe Biden to stop his campaign

Renowned director Rob Reiner, known for his work on films like “Stand by Me” and “When Harry Met Sally,” has recently taken to social media to urge Democratic Party leader Joe Biden to step down from his reelection bid. In a passionate post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Reiner expressed his concerns about the potential consequences of Biden winning the election.

“It’s time to stop messing around. If the Convicted Felon wins, we lose our Democracy,” Reiner stated. A long-time supporter of Biden and a significant donor to the Democratic Party, Reiner emphasized that it’s time for Biden to gracefully step down, as he believes Biden has already served the country with honor, decency, and dignity.

Following Reiner’s statement, acclaimed author Stephen King, along with other celebrities like showrunner Damon Lindelof and Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, also called for Biden to withdraw from the race. The concern among these prominent figures is that Biden may be jeopardizing the election against Donald Trump.

“Joe Biden has been a fine president, but it’s time for him—in the interests of the America he so clearly loves—to announce he will not run for re-election,” King wrote.

Reiner and King’s plea comes in the wake of growing doubts surrounding Biden’s mental acuity and capabilities. Criticism peaked following his lackluster debate performance against Trump last month, leading to unease among Democrats in Congress.

Despite the mounting pressure, Biden has stood his ground, affirming his belief that he can defeat Trump and lead the country for another four years.

“I’m the most qualified person to beat him, and I know how to get things done,” Biden emphasized during an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.

Addressing his shaky performance at the debate, Biden attributed it to exhaustion, dismissing any concerns about his health. He insisted that it was merely a “bad episode” and not indicative of a serious ailment.

However, Biden has remained steadfast in his decision to stay in the race despite the calls for him to step aside. He humorously remarked that even if a divine intervention occurred, he would only withdraw if instructed by the “Lord Almighty.”
