Ryan Reynolds addresses rumors about Taylor Swift appearing in ‘Deadpool’ – Watch here
Jimmy Fallon got right to the point in his recent interview with Ryan Reynolds on The Tonight Show. The burning question on everyone’s minds was finally addressed: Is Taylor Swift going to be in the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine?
Reynolds’ response may not have been what Swifties were hoping for, but it certainly didn’t completely rule out the possibility. “I wish,” he joked, “If I ever stop, she’d make a good Deadpool. She’s funny, funny, funny!”
While Taylor Swift’s involvement may still be up in the air, Reynolds did confirm that there will be some surprise appearances in the film. “We don’t really have cameos as much as surprises,” he revealed. “The folks that do show up in the movie — I have no idea how we’ve managed to keep it secret, given the Internet, somehow it hasn’t come out — they have beginnings, middles, and ends. It’s not just like, ‘Hey, there’s that person!’ and we move on. They’re there for a reason.”
The rumors about Swift’s involvement in the film have been swirling for years, especially with Reynolds teasing fans by recreating Swift’s album cover and featuring friendship bracelets in the movie poster. The connection between the pop star and Reynolds goes way back, with Swift even borrowing Deadpool costume for Halloween and Reynolds sporting a T-shirt with Swift’s cats, Meredith and Olivia, in Deadpool 2.
In a recent SiriusXM Town Hall, Reynolds joked about the T-shirt debacle, saying, “Yes, I had a T-shirt made. I was sued. I lost everything in that one. And getting sued by a friend is tough to swallow. Also, she has just a lot of very, very powerful lawyers. I found out later those are just the paralegals. The real lawyers didn’t even bother with it.”
Whether or not Taylor Swift makes an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – there are plenty of surprises in store for viewers when the film hits theaters.
