Sabrina Carpenter is in charge of ‘Espresso.’

Sabrina Carpenter’s latest single, “Espresso”, is making waves in the music scene as it takes the lead in the U.K. chart for the first time. The talented American singer and actor has struck gold with “Espresso” (Island), which made its debut at No. 6 on the national chart after its release on April 11. Since then, the song has been steadily climbing up the charts, securing its position as a hit.

This achievement marks “Espresso” as Sabrina Carpenter’s first top 10 hit in the U.K. and her fourth appearance in the top 40. Her previous singles “Feather” (peaking at No. 19), “Skin” (peaking at No. 28), and “Nonsense” (peaking at No. 32) have set the stage for this latest success.

However, Carpenter faces tough competition from Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, which has slipped from No. 1 to No. 2 on the Official Chart Update. Despite this, Swift’s track is trailing closely behind “Espresso”, with less than 1,000 chart units separating the two. With her previous No. 1 debut and chart-topping album “The Tortured Poets Department”, Swift continues to dominate the U.K. charts.

Adding to the mix of chart-topping tracks is another song from Swift’s album, “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart”, which has entered the Official Chart Update at No. 7. This potential top 10 hit could further expand Swift’s impressive tally of U.K. top 10 singles to 29.

The country music genre is also seeing a resurgence on the U.K. charts, with Beyonce’s No. 1 album “Cowboy Carter” and Dasha’s single “Austin” setting the stage. Joining the trend is Shaboozey with his track “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” (American Dogwood/Empire), climbing from 27 to 8 on the chart blast and poised to become his first U.K. top 10 hit.

As the music scene heats up, Dasha’s “Austin” (Warner Records) is anticipated to maintain its position at No. 10 on the charts. Music fans eagerly await the Official U.K. Singles Chart publication on Friday, May 3, to see the final rankings and how these chart-topping hits fare in the competitive music industry.
