Senator from GOP calls for Cabinet to remove Biden using 25th Amendment after he suspends re-election campaign.

BIDEN DROPS OUT OF 2024 REMATCH WITH TRUMP, ENDORSES HARRIS

In a surprising turn of events, President Biden announced the end of his re-election campaign just a day after suspending it amid pressure from his own party regarding his age and fitness to serve another term. Instead, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place as the 2024 Democratic nominee.

White House officials have clarified that the President will complete his first term until January 20, 2025. However, concerns have been raised by Republicans, including former President Trump, about Biden’s ability to continue serving for the remainder of his term.

Senator Eric Schmitt wasted no time and sent letters to every member of Biden’s Cabinet on Monday, urging them to invoke the 25th Amendment. This move by Schmitt is the first official action taken by someone suggesting the invocation of the 25th Amendment.

Schmitt pointed out issues such as financial struggles, diminishing global standing, and the influx of illegal immigrants across the southern border under the Biden-Harris Administration. He expressed his concerns in the letters sent to the Cabinet members.

According to Schmitt, if Biden acknowledges his health issues and inability to continue as the Democratic nominee, it implies he is unfit to carry out his duties as President until the end of his term. Therefore, Schmitt called on Cabinet members to fulfill their constitutional duty under the 25th Amendment and work with Vice President Harris to address the situation.

The 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states that when the Vice President and a majority of the executive department officials declare in writing that the President is unable to carry out his duties, the Vice President will assume the role of Acting President.

Schmitt emphasized that while Harris may have shortcomings, unlike Biden, she doesn’t have any incurable medical conditions preventing her from serving as Acting President. He criticized the Democratic Party for disregarding the will of the people and forcing Biden to withdraw from the primary race late in the game.

Schmitt’s primary concern is the well-being of the nation, urging the Cabinet secretaries to act promptly rather than waiting for Biden’s term to end in 2025. He stressed the importance of having a mentally capable President to tackle the existing domestic and foreign challenges effectively.

Further, Schmitt highlighted the urgency of the situation by stating that the country cannot afford a part-time President and urged Cabinet members to take decisive action to relieve Biden of his duties if he is unable to fulfill them due to medical reasons.
