Senator John Fetterman and his wife Gisele were in a car crash in Maryland on Sunday morning.

Pennsylvania United States Senator John Fetterman and his wife Gisele were reportedly involved in an early-morning crash on Sunday in Maryland, according to officials from Fetterman’s office and the Maryland State Police.

Reports indicate that a Chevrolet Traverse and a Chevrolet Impala were both traveling west on I-70 when, for unknown reasons, the Traverse rear-ended the Impala.

Senator Fetterman, 54, was identified as the driver of the Traverse in the incident.

Following the crash, a passenger in Fetterman’s vehicle and the driver of the Impala were transported by ambulance to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia for medical evaluation.

Fetterman later released a video on Monday evening with Gisele, expressing gratitude for the well-wishes they received and revealing that the accident occurred on their 16th wedding anniversary.

“You might have heard G and I were in a car accident yesterday. Thank you all for the well wishes. Not the best way to spend our 16th wedding anniversary but we’re doing well and happy to be back home in Braddock with the family,” Fetterman shared.

Gisele also playfully teased her husband in response, jokingly giving him an “F” for their anniversary celebration.

Following their evaluation at a local hospital, Fetterman and Gisele were discharged on the same day. John received treatment for a bruised shoulder, and both are reportedly doing well and back in Braddock.

Authorities mentioned that no citations were issued at the scene of the crash, and the investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing.
