Taylor Swift beats Kings of Leon to top the U.K. charts.
Taylor Swift has once again reclaimed the top spot on the U.K. albums chart with her album “The Tortured Poets Department.” This marks the third non-consecutive week at No. 1 for Swift’s latest studio album. As she gears up for the European leg of her The Eras Tour, fans are eagerly anticipating her upcoming stadium shows in various cities across the U.K. including Scotland, northern England, Cardiff, and London’s Wembley Stadium.
Not far behind, Kings of Leon make a strong debut on the chart with their album “Can We Please Have Fun” landing at No. 2. The U.S. rock outfit’s ninth studio album has already become the best-seller on vinyl for the week, adding to their impressive track record of top 10 appearances, including six No. 1s.
Dua Lipa’s “Radical Optimism” slips to No. 3 this week, while Gunna achieves an equal career best with “One Of Wun” debuting at No. 4. This marks a significant milestone for the U.S. rapper, singer, and songwriter, matching the peak position of his previous release “DS4EVER.”
Keane’s debut album “Hopes And Fears” makes a triumphant return to the top 10 after almost two decades, thanks to a 20th-anniversary deluxe reissue. The album, which originally saw five non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 2004, re-enters the national chart at an impressive No. 7.
Lastly, Manchester rapper Bugzy Malone secures his sixth U.K. top 40 album with “The Great British Dream” debuting at No. 13. Malone has consistently delivered chart-topping albums over the years, with previous successes including “Walk With Me,” “Facing Time,” “King Of The North,” “B.Inspired,” and “The Resurrection.”
