Taylor Swift tops U.K. chart with ‘Tortured Poets’

Taylor Swift has once again proven herself as a musical powerhouse by topping the national albums chart for the seventh non-consecutive week with her album, The Tortured Poets Department. As she mesmerized the audience at Wembley Stadium with three back-to-back shows, Swift solidified her reign as the Queen of the charts.

The Official Chart, published on June 21, showcases Swift’s album at No. 1, coinciding with her series of concerts at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium. The Tortured Poets Department is Taylor’s 11th studio album and has now become her longest-running chart-topper in the U.K., surpassing the success of her previous album, Midnights, which held the top position for five non-consecutive cycles.

Joining Swift at the top of the chart are other talented female solo artists. Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft climbs to No. 2, while Charli XCX’s Brat slips to No. 3. The top debut on the latest tally goes to British rock band Sea Girls, whose album, Midnight Butterflies, lands at No. 5, marking their third consecutive top 5 appearance on the chart.

Legendary musician Paul McCartney & Wings make a triumphant return to the charts with their live studio album, One Hand Clapping, debuting at No. 10. This marks McCartney and Co.’s first top 10 album in 45 years, since Back To The Egg peaked at No. 6 in 1979.

Country music sensation Luke Combs also makes a splash on the chart with his album, Fathers & Sons, entering at No. 14. This is Combs’ fourth top 40 LP, adding to his impressive career accomplishments that include multiple top 10 spots in the U.K. for his previous albums.

With Taylor Swift leading the charge and a diverse lineup of talented artists making waves on the charts, the music industry continues to showcase its resilience and creativity in captivating audiences worldwide.
