Taylor Swift’s album sells 2 million copies in the United States.

Taylor Swift continues to dominate the music industry with her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which has exceeded 2 million in album sales within just two weeks of its release. This remarkable achievement marks her 11th album to reach this milestone. The album encompasses both digital downloads and physical copies, including CDs, cassette tapes, and vinyl LPs.

In the most recent week ending on May 2, The Tortured Poets Department saw a sales figure of 107,000 copies, showcasing a 94% decline from its debut week sales of 1.914 million. Despite this drop, the album’s total sales of 2.021 million in just two weeks represent a substantial 8.4% of all U.S. album sales year-to-date, amounting to 24.05 million.

This feat places The Tortured Poets Department in an elite category, becoming the first album since Adele’s 25 in 2015 to reach over 2 million copies within the first two weeks of its release. Adele’s 25 achieved an impressive 4.49 million sales during its initial two weeks on the market.

Among the notable entries on the Top Album Sales chart, Grateful Dead’s Dave’s Picks, Volume 50: The Palladium, New York, NY – 5/3/77 debuts at No. 2, with a strong start of 20,000 copies sold. Additionally, Lafey’s Bewitched re-enters the chart at a new peak of No. 2, with 15,000 units sold following a deluxe reissue featuring bonus tracks.

The top six on the chart also witness debuts from Yung Bleu’s Jeremy at No. 4 (13,000), Luke Hemmings’ Boy at No. 5 (10,000), and St. Vincent’s All Born Screaming at No. 6 (nearly 10,000). Meanwhile, Swift’s previous chart-toppers, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Lover, hold positions with 9,000 and 8,000 sales, respectively.

ILLIT enters the chart at No. 9 with nearly 8,000 units sold, while TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s minisode 3: TOMORROW climbs to No. 10 with 7,000 copies, indicating a 25% decrease from the previous week. The music landscape continues to thrive with diverse artists making their mark on the music charts.
