The Philadelphia Inquirer wants Trump to quit after debate.

After the recent presidential debate, the Philadelphia Inquirer has issued a bold call for Donald Trump to drop out of the race. The debate performance by Trump seemed to have solidified the newspaper’s belief that he is unfit for the highest office in the country.

During the first debate between Trump and Biden, which was held in Cleveland, Ohio, on Tuesday night, Trump interrupted Biden repeatedly and made several unsubstantiated claims. The debate quickly devolved into chaos, with both candidates talking over each other and the moderator struggling to maintain order.

Trump’s behavior during the debate did not sit well with many viewers, including the editorial board of the Philadelphia Inquirer. In an editorial published shortly after the debate, the newspaper argued that Trump’s behavior was a clear demonstration of his unsuitability for the presidency.

The Inquirer’s editorial board pointed to Trump’s refusal to condemn white supremacists during the debate as a particularly egregious example of his failings as a leader. When moderator Chris Wallace asked Trump to denounce white supremacist groups, Trump instead told the far-right Proud Boys group to “stand back and stand by.”

This failure to unequivocally condemn white supremacy was just one of many troubling moments during the debate. Trump’s constant interruptions and personal attacks on Biden also drew criticism from both Democrats and Republicans alike.

Given Trump’s performance during the debate, the Philadelphia Inquirer has called on him to drop out of the race and allow Vice President Joe Biden to take office. The editorial board argued that Trump’s behavior was not befitting of a president and that he had shown himself to be a danger to the country.

While it is unlikely that Trump will heed the Inquirer’s call to drop out of the race, the editorial has added to the growing chorus of voices calling for him to step aside. With less than five weeks until the election, the pressure on Trump to turn things around is mounting.

Whether or not Trump will be able to recover from his disastrous debate performance remains to be seen. However, one thing is clear: the Philadelphia Inquirer and many others believe that Trump’s behavior on Tuesday night was a step too far and that he is not fit to lead the country for another four years.

As the election draws closer, the stakes have never been higher. The choice between Trump and Biden could not be more stark, and the American people will have the final say on November 3rd.

For now, all eyes are on the next presidential debate, scheduled for October 15th in Miami. Whether Trump will be able to redeem himself in the eyes of the American people remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the Philadelphia Inquirer will be watching closely.
