Tim Walz talks about Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris for President

Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota recently addressed Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as she launches her bid for the presidency of the United States. As a self-proclaimed “fellow cat owner,” Walz expressed his gratitude to Swift for her support.

Walz, who is Harris’ pick for Vice President on the Democratic ticket, appeared on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow on Tuesday night following the 2024 presidential debate. During the interview, Maddow informed Walz of Swift’s endorsement of Harris.

” I am incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift, and I say that as a fellow cat owner,” Walz responded after hearing a portion of Swift’s heartfelt statement on Instagram. He praised her courage and emphasized the importance of individuals standing up for their beliefs, as demonstrated by both Republicans and women who have shared personal stories due to prevailing issues in America. Walz encouraged Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, to visit KamalaHarris.com and get involved in the political process.

Swift’s endorsement not only refuted false claims of endorsing Trump created by AI content in August but also outlined her political priorities for the upcoming election.

“Recently, I discovered AI-generated content falsely endorsing Donald Trump on his platform,” Swift shared on Instagram after the debate. “This experience highlighted the dangers of misinformation and reinforced the need for transparency in my voting intentions. I am casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I support @kamalaharris because of her advocacy for causes I believe in and her leadership qualities. I also commend her choice of running mate @timwalz, who has been a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s reproductive rights for years.”
