Tony Goldwyn believes it is important that Taylor Swift and Beyoncé support something.

Tony Goldwyn, best known for his role in Scandal, kicked off the Democratic National Convention with an optimistic outlook on Kamala Harris’ chances in the upcoming presidential election. In an interview with Variety, Goldwyn expressed his confidence in Harris’ potential victory in November.

He also touched upon the impact that endorsements from major music stars like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé could have on Harris’ campaign. Goldwyn emphasized the importance of every bit of support contributing to the overall momentum. While he acknowledged that not everyone votes based on their favorite musicians’ endorsements, he believed that adding star power to Harris’ campaign could make a significant difference.

Despite Taylor Swift not officially endorsing Harris, some fans speculated that a recent Instagram post by the singer may have subtly hinted at her support for the Democratic nominee. In the background of a photo from one of Swift’s performances, a silhouette resembling Harris in a pantsuit was spotted. However, a source close to Swift clarified that the silhouette was actually one of the background singers.

On the other hand, Harris has shown her admiration for Beyoncé, with whom she shares a mutual appreciation. In a recent campaign staff meeting, Harris made an entrance to Beyoncé’s empowering anthem, “Freedom,” showcasing her support for the music icon.

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, has been vocal about her endorsement of Harris on social media. In an Instagram post, Knowles praised Harris for her energy, sharpness, and commitment to leadership. She commended President Biden for his decision to choose Harris as his running mate and encouraged her followers to support Harris in her presidential aspirations.
