Troy Aikman Refers to Taylor Swift as “The Mrs.” During Chiefs Game on Monday Night Football

Former Cowboys quarterbacks seem to have a knack for making amusing slip-ups when it comes to referring to singer Taylor Swift. Last year, Tony Romo mistakenly called Taylor Swift the “wife” of Travis Kelce during his commentary for Kansas City Chiefs games. However, Swift is not married to the tight end, although they have been dating for some time. This time, another former Cowboys QB, Troy Aikman, referred to Swift as “the Mrs.” when the camera cut to her during a second-quarter play by Kelce.

Aikman exclaimed, “The Mrs. likes it,” as the camera captured Swift celebrating in an Arrowhead Stadium VIP suite, accompanied by her father, Scott Swift, and Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce. Joe Buck, his broadcast partner, promptly corrected the mistake, pointing out that Swift and Kelce are not actually married.

Realizing his error, Aikman acknowledged, “Oh, I know. I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.” Despite the humorous mix-up, Swift appeared back in the suite after missing two games, donning a plaid dress, knee-high boots, and glitter freckles. Her presence seemed to bring luck to Kelce, who had an impressive game contributing to the Chiefs’ victory over the New Orleans Saints.

The Kelce brothers, Travis and retired NFL legend Jason Kelce, both seemed thrilled to have Swift back in attendance, with Jason even complimenting her fashionable entrance to Arrowhead Stadium. Swift celebrated the Chiefs’ fifth consecutive win of the season, captured in a photo with Chariah Gordon, the fiancée of Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., in the VIP suite.

During their interaction, Gordon asked Swift about her feelings after the victory, standing in front of a framed poster from Taylor’s Eras Tour. Jokingly noticing her own picture on the wall, Swift apologized, “Sorry for photobombing myself.” With the Chiefs maintaining an undefeated record and Swift preparing to embark on her new tour, the excitement is palpable.
