Trump campaign and RNC plan to have 100,000 volunteers to monitor voting in the election.

In a strategic move, the Republican National Committee and former President Donald Trump’s campaign have unveiled a new initiative to enhance election monitoring efforts in battleground states ahead of the next presidential election. The plan involves recruiting 100,000 volunteers to oversee the voting process and report any irregularities that may arise. Additionally, a team of lawyers will be on standby to provide immediate assistance in case issues arise during the vote counting process.

Lara Trump, the co-chair of the RNC, expressed the importance of ensuring the integrity of the electoral process by increasing the number of observers and poll watchers. By hiring hundreds of election integrity staff and establishing an “Election Integrity Hotline” in every battleground state, the initiative aims to maintain transparency and address any concerns as they arise.

Monthly training sessions will be conducted for volunteers to familiarize them with monitoring voting sites and ballot counting centers. The effort is being hailed as the most extensive election integrity program in the nation’s history, with the Trump campaign and RNC working closely to spearhead the initiative.

David Becker, a prominent election law contributor, raised doubts about the feasibility of recruiting thousands of volunteers for the program. While emphasizing the importance of election transparency, Becker noted that previous promises of assembling large armies of poll watchers have often fallen short.

The program was developed by the Trump campaign in collaboration with RNC Chairman Michael Whatley, Lara Trump, and RNC chief counsel Charlie Spies. Whatley’s background in election integrity initiatives played a significant role in his selection as RNC chair, as Trump aimed to redirect the party’s focus towards ensuring fair and secure elections.

Following allegations of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, Trump has been vocal about the need to address election integrity issues. Despite the absence of concrete evidence supporting his claims, Trump continues to advocate for stricter monitoring measures to prevent any potential discrepancies in future elections.

On the other hand, the Democratic National Committee has accused Trump and his allies of attempting to undermine the results of the upcoming presidential election. DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd condemned the efforts of the Trump political operation, characterizing them as a threat to democracy.

As the political landscape becomes increasingly polarized, the battle over election integrity is expected to intensify leading up to the 2024 presidential election. With both parties mobilizing their resources to safeguard the electoral process, the outcome of this ongoing struggle remains uncertain.
