Trump opens new campaign offices in Minnesota and Virginia.

Former President Trump is making a bold push into two states once considered Democratic strongholds, gearing up for the 2024 presidential election. With less than five months to go until the election, Trump has opened a total of 19 field offices in Virginia and Minnesota, setting the stage for an intense battle for electoral votes.

Teams have already been assembled to manage each state, and efforts are underway to fill each field office with dedicated staff in support of the former president. The campaign is strategically working to build momentum and gather support in these crucial states.

In a recent memo, the campaign announced that “collateral materials will land in early July in both states, and we’ve already begun to generate Trump Force 47 Captain recruits to get them into training.” This proactive approach demonstrates Trump’s commitment to securing victories in Virginia and Minnesota.

The Trump campaign sees both Minnesota and Virginia as potential battlegrounds in the upcoming election, aiming to flip these historically blue states in an effort to expand the electoral map for the 2024 race.

During a closed-door Republican National Committee retreat for major donors in Palm Beach, Florida, earlier this year, senior Trump campaign advisors highlighted internal surveys that indicated both “Minnesota & Virginia are clearly in play.” This insight has fueled the campaign’s determination to compete aggressively in these states.

Virginia has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate in over two decades, with the last instance being President George W. Bush’s re-election victory in 2004. However, recent polling suggests a tight race in Virginia, giving hope to the Trump campaign.

Similarly, Minnesota has not favored a Republican in a presidential election since President Richard Nixon’s landslide re-election in 1972. The state was the only one President Ronald Reagan lost in his overwhelming victory in 1984. Nonetheless, a recent poll in Minnesota shows a competitive race between Biden and Trump, with the President holding a narrow lead in support.

In the 2024 election rematch, Trump stands at 45% among likely voters in Minnesota, while Biden is at 41%, according to a poll conducted in early June. This indicates a significant shift from the previous election, where Biden won the state decisively against Trump.

During a speech at the annual Lincoln Reagan fundraising dinner in St. Paul, Minnesota, Trump expressed confidence in his chances of winning the state. He emphasized the enthusiasm among his supporters, with 63% stating they were “very enthusiastic” about voting for him, compared to only 31% of Biden supporters.

Despite the Trump campaign’s efforts, Biden’s team is also actively engaging with voters in both states. The Biden campaign has mobilized a team of experienced operatives to lead its Minnesota campaign and has opened six offices across Virginia, with plans for more in the coming weeks.

As the 2024 election draws nearer, the battle for Virginia and Minnesota intensifies, with both campaigns vying for support and working tirelessly to secure key victories in these pivotal states. The outcome of this fierce competition will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the overall election results.
