Trump Organization responds to reports that New Jersey may revoke liquor licenses following conviction, clarifying Trump himself is not the license holder.

The Trump Organization is pushing back against reports that the State of New Jersey is considering revoking three liquor licenses owned by former President Trump in the wake of his felony convictions in NY v. Trump.

News started to spread on Tuesday that New Jersey was contemplating invalidating the liquor licenses associated with golf club properties located in Colt’s Neck, Lamington, and Pine Hill, N.J. Specifically, Lamington Farm Club LLC, which operates as the well-known Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, is under scrutiny.

According to a spokesperson for the Trump Organization, Donald Trump is not an officer or director of any entity holding a liquor license in New Jersey or anywhere else in the United States for that matter. The organization asserts that any examination of their liquor licenses will confirm this fact.

The spokesperson further emphasized that the reports of potential legal action against Trump post-conviction not only do not harm the former president but also negatively impact the hard-working individuals who rely on these properties for their livelihoods.

Highlighting the significance of these properties, the spokesperson noted, “These are some of the most iconic properties in the world, and reports like this do nothing but harm the thousands of hard-working Americans who derive their livelihoods from these spectacular assets.”

In response to the situation, the New Jersey Attorney General’s office released a statement affirming that there are currently three active licenses held by the aforementioned properties. The office also mentioned that it is thoroughly investigating the entire matter.

The spokesperson for the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control stated, “[The New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control] is reviewing the impact of President Trump’s conviction on the above referenced licenses, and declines further comment at this time.”

However, despite the office’s silence, a request for comment was not answered after the Trump Organization refuted the initial reports.

Back in 2019, Gurbir Grewal, who is now a current SEC prosecutor but was then the top law enforcement official in New Jersey, tried to revoke licenses from a Trump Organization property in Monmouth County due to an incident involving an intoxicated guest.

Overall, the Trump Organization is standing its ground against the possible repercussions in New Jersey, asserting that Donald Trump’s lack of direct involvement with the liquor licenses should shield the properties from punitive actions from the state.
