Trump survived an assassin’s bullet.
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders took to the stage at the Republican National Convention and was met with a thunderous standing ovation. As one of the final speakers of the night, she wasted no time in showcasing her unwavering support for former President Donald Trump.
Beginning her speech with a reference to the recent assassination attempt on Trump, Sanders highlighted his strength and resilience in the face of danger. She declared, “Never have I been more proud than to stand with [Trump] right now, tonight. Not even an assassin’s bullet could stop him. God almighty intervened because America is one nation under God, and He is certainly not finished with President Trump.”
Injecting a bit of humor into her address, Sanders recounted a story about taking her children to meet Trump at the White House. She slyly jabbed at President Joe Biden, jokingly saying, “I got the chance to take my 4-year-old son Huck to ‘Bring Your Kid to Work Day,’ much like Jill now drags Joe to ‘Bring Your Husband To Work Day.’
Reflecting on her time working in the Trump administration, Sanders addressed the criticism she faced from the media during her tenure as press secretary. Despite the challenges, she remained steadfast in her loyalty to Trump and his vision for the country.
Speaking about her record as governor, Sanders proudly proclaimed herself as the “first and only governor in the country to kick Communist China off our farmland.” However, according to the Agricultural Law Center, at least 24 other states also have restrictions on nonresidents owning farmland.
Throughout her speech, Sanders endeavored to humanize Trump, sharing anecdotes and personal experiences to paint a more relatable picture of the former president. The crowd responded enthusiastically, breaking into applause multiple times as she extolled Trump’s leadership qualities.
“President Trump is a leader, and he’s the leader our country needs,” Sanders declared passionately. “If ever there was a doubt, earlier this week, we saw just how tough, resilient, courageous, and daring this man is. We can’t get him back in the White House.”
Sanders’ speech at the Republican National Convention served as a rallying cry for Trump supporters, highlighting his perceived virtues and downplaying criticisms against him. Her unwavering support for the former president was evident, resonating with the audience and energizing them for the upcoming political battles that lie ahead.
