Trump used gadgets to stay awake in court.

**Donald Trump Napping in Court Sparks Concerns During Stormy Daniels Trial**

Former President Donald Trump found himself in the spotlight once again, not for his usual political antics but for an unexpected reason – falling asleep in court. Despite efforts by his attorneys to keep him awake, Trump’s penchant for dozing off has captured the attention of legal analysts and spectators alike.

MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin, who has been present during Trump’s trial in the Stormy Daniels hush money case, didn’t mince words when describing the situation. “Sleeping. Again,” she remarked, revealing that various measures have been taken to prevent Trump from nodding off during crucial courtroom proceedings.

According to Rubin, attorneys by Trump’s side are vigilant, ensuring that the former president remains awake during sidebar discussions. Trump now reportedly keeps a stack of papers with him at all times, presumably to stay engaged with the legal proceedings. However, these efforts seem to have fallen short, as Trump has been caught dozing off multiple times during the trial.

“Neither of those things seem to have protected Trump from his own exhaustion today,” Rubin commented. “More often than not, when I checked how Trump was reacting to the testimony, his eyes were shut, indicating he may be asleep or in deep contemplation.”

During a separate interview on the network, Rubin acknowledged that there could be other reasons for Trump’s closed eyes. She noted, “He appears to be at rest for considerable periods of time. Whether he’s meditating or napping, it’s hard to say, but he definitely seemed to be in a state of repose.”

Former U.S. attorney Harry Litman, who also witnessed the trial, offered a more direct assessment of Trump’s behavior. “I brought binoculars,” Litman joked. “We’re talking REM sleep here. Seriously. He was out cold.”

The irony of the situation hasn’t been lost on observers, considering Trump’s past taunts towards President Joe Biden as “Sleepy Joe.” Trump’s own courtroom siestas have raised questions about his ability to use such nicknames in the future, given his own predilection for nodding off during legal proceedings.
