Trump’s plane had to land in Billings, Montana due to mechanical problem on the way to rally.

Former President Trump’s plane had to make an unexpected stop in Billings, Montana, on Friday after experiencing a mechanical issue, according to a Billings airport official. Bozeman, where Trump was originally headed, is approximately 120 miles west of Billings.

In a video shared on social media from his plane, Trump appeared unfazed by the diversion, remarking on the beauty of Montana and his upcoming engagements in the state. “I’m here to do some fundraisers and most importantly to support Tim Sheehy, who’s running for the U.S. Senate,” Trump stated. “We think he’s going to do really well. We’re going to have a rally, and it’ll be a lot of fun.”

Sheehy, the Republican candidate, is challenging Democratic Sen. Jon Tester in the upcoming election. Trump’s schedule includes a speech at Montana State University at 8 p.m. local time, with thousands of supporters expected to attend. A fundraiser is also on the agenda before the rally.

Despite the unplanned stop, Trump will continue his journey to Bozeman on a private plane. However, details about the timing of this flight are currently unavailable.

Trump is known for traveling in style on his private plane, affectionately known as Trump Force One. A lavish Boeing 757, the aircraft boasts luxuries such as a living room, flat-screen TV, and a lounge area. “Air Force One is always Air Force One, even if this is nicer,” Trump quipped. “I mean, it represents something very special.”

While Trump dealt with the unexpected change in his travel plans, Vice President Kamala Harris was busy campaigning with her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, in Arizona.
