White House responds to Rep. Nancy Mace’s mocking post
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) attempted to troll President Joe Biden on Thursday, but the White House ended up taking the high ground on social media.
Mace took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post that “Biden is MIA” and questioned why no one was talking about it.
Although Mace likely thought she was making a strong political statement, that’s not exactly how it played out.
Right around the time Mace was calling out Biden for being missing in action, news broke that his administration had orchestrated a significant prisoner exchange deal involving multiple countries. This deal resulted in the release of eight Americans, including journalist Evan Gershkovich and Marine veteran Paul Whelan.
RawStory highlighted that many individuals criticized the congresswoman’s poorly timed tweet, but perhaps no response hit harder than the one from the White House, which only needed three words to shut down Mace.
Those three powerful words? “He’s been busy,” posted alongside Biden’s message regarding the hostage release.
The backlash to the White House’s clapback at Mace was swift and intense.
One Twitter user questioned Mace’s whereabouts, stating, “What is Nancy Mace up to? Oh wait, the House is in recess.”
Others expressed their amusement and satisfaction with the witty exchange between Mace and the White House.
After receiving the White House’s mocking response, Mace attempted to salvage the situation by claiming that the president was “busy pardoning the mastermind behind 9/11.”
However, her attempt to shift the narrative only resulted in further mockery and criticism.
One user pointed out Mace’s alleged exploitation of the 9/11 tragedy, stating, “Meanwhile, you’re busy exploiting 9/11.”
Another user criticized Mace for being dishonest and straying from the values she claims to uphold, “You violate the honor code on a daily basis. For someone who’s not supposed to lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do, you sure do a lot of lying and tolerating.”
As the online tussle continued, more users expressed their frustration and disappointment with Mace’s actions and questioned her integrity.
In the end, the attempt by Rep. Nancy Mace to troll President Joe Biden backfired, with the White House effortlessly turning the tables and showcasing grace under pressure.
It serves as a reminder that in the world of politics and social media, actions and words can have repercussions that reverberate far beyond the intended target.
