Whitmer’s former opponent says Democrats should not replace Biden with her.

Former Michigan GOP gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon has raised concerns about the potential addition of Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to the presidential ticket, suggesting that such a move would be detrimental to Democrats but advantageous for Republicans.

Dixon expressed confidence that Whitmer’s debating weaknesses would be exposed if she were to face off against Senator J.D. Vance, presenting a significant challenge for her and offering voters a clear picture of her capabilities.

Following the recent assassination attempt on former President Trump, President Biden has called for a reduction in political tensions. However, Republicans have criticized Biden’s campaign for resorting to negative attacks post-assassination attempt. Whitmer has faced criticism for allegedly inciting violence, with the Trump campaign highlighting an incident from 2020 where she appeared on camera with the digits “8645” displayed behind her, leading to accusations of encouraging an assassination attempt.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has emerged as a rumored candidate to replace President Biden if he were to step down. Despite this speculation, Whitmer has voiced frustration at her name being thrown into the mix as a potential successor to Biden. In response to a Politico report indicating that she had warned the Biden campaign about his chances of winning her home state post-debate, Whitmer took to social media to vehemently deny such claims.

It is worth noting that Whitmer’s two-term governance of a pivotal Midwestern swing state makes her an attractive candidate for Democrats. Nevertheless, the Michigan governor has made it clear that she is not actively seeking or endorsing the possibility of replacing President Biden.
