Will Taylor Swift’s song ‘I Can Do It With a Broken Heart’ be a big hit?

Taylor Swift, the global pop sensation, closed out her five-night residency at Wembley Stadium in the U.K. with a bang on Tuesday night. As part of her Eras tour in Europe, she surprised fans by releasing a new music video for her hit song, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” The video included exclusive behind-the-scenes clips from her record-breaking tour. This emotional anthem, featured on her album The Tortured Poets Department, continues to dominate the music charts, holding the number one spot on the Billboard 200 for its 15th consecutive week.

Unlike her previous single “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, “Broken Heart” has been steadily climbing back up the charts. In its 17th week on the Hot 100, the song moved up two spots to land at number 33, while “Fortnight” slipped to number 49. Previously, “Broken Heart” peaked at number 3 on the Hot 100, as part of Taylor Swift’s remarkable domination of the top 10 spots on the chart with the release of The Tortured Poets Department.

Leading up to the music video debut, “Broken Heart” had garnered around 7.5 million weekly streams over three weeks, according to data from Luminate. In the most recent chart week ending on August 15, the song saw an increase in U.S. on-demand streams to 7.67 million, marking a 3% rise from the previous week’s 7.43 million streams.

Moreover, “Broken Heart” has been gaining traction at radio stations over the past month. From debuting at number 42 on the Radio Songs chart dated August 3 with an audience of 12.9 million, the song has climbed to number 25 on the current chart with an audience of 21.1 million, reflecting a 10% increase from the previous week. On the Pop Airplay chart, “Broken Heart” made its entry at number 42 on July 27 and has since soared to number 15. Notably, it has found significant support on adult pop radio, reaching number 8 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart.

As “Broken Heart” continues to gain momentum on radio while maintaining a strong presence on streaming platforms, the release of its music video could be the push needed to propel the single towards the top 20 of the Hot 100 in the coming weeks. Fans have eagerly embraced this all-access pass to the Eras Tour, with the “Broken Heart” video already approaching 7 million views within the first 24 hours of its release.
